A Possessive Pronouns Worksheet Pack for the Primary Grades

Possessive pronouns, such as “his,” “hers” and “theirs,” are words used to show ownership. They help sentences flow smoothly and avoid repetition.

This possessive pronouns worksheet pack has been designed by the Teach Starter team to give your students practice identifying and using some of the most commonly used possessive pronouns. Designed for 1st- and 2nd-grade students, this pack includes six unique worksheets for possessive pronouns to help your students explore and master this key grammar concept.

Inside this possessive pronouns worksheet pack, you will find the following activities:

  1. Pronoun Match-Up – Match the possessive pronouns to the correct sentence.
  2. Circle the Pronoun – Choose the correct possessive pronoun that matches the image from the three pronoun choices provided.
  3. Color-Code the Pronouns – Color the possessive pronouns in the table green and the non-pronouns in the table red.
  4. Pronoun or Not? – Read the sentences and color the underlined word green if it is a possessive pronoun or red if it isn’t.
  5. Find the Pronoun – Read the sentences and circle the possessive pronouns in each sentence.
  6. Write a Sentence – Write a sentence for each possessive pronoun listed.

These worksheets for possessive pronouns download as an easy-print PDF or an editable Google Slides file. Answers are included in both file options.
