Subitizing Warm-up

Learning how to subitize numbers is a special skill students learn in their beginning years of school. Use this presentation as a lesson starter with students recalling the number of objects without counting them individually.

The presentation includes collections of objects from one to five.

To use this slide deck, display the presentation on a screen for all students to see. Have them write their answer on mini-whiteboards, hold up their fingers, or call out their answers. It is designed to be a quick-fire round of subitizing.

Through this activity, students will show they can subitize small collections of objects.
