Improve student sentence structure with a card game focusing on usage of correct subject-verb agreement in sentences.
Need a Subject-Verb Agreement Game?
Teaching subject-verb agreement? It seems that every year, language arts teachers across all grade levels go back to basics at the beginning of the year to review and reteach subject-verb agreement. Why don’t those concepts stick with kids once the lesson is taught?
The simplest answer is…practice. They need to be taught the lesson, and then practice needs to occur in order to retain the information. Daily practice and engaging in repeated learning activities focusing on the skill are critical components of information retention.
This printable and editable subject-verb agreement card game provides that practice and includes instructions and 24 game cards for play.
This game can be played in two ways. Students can use the cards to play a game of Concentration or use the alternate rules and turn it into a game of Go Fish!

- Partner struggling readers with other students to assist in the reading component of the activity.
