This sorting activity has been designed to help students understand the difference between a regular verb tense group and an irregular verb tense groups. Students are provided with a collection of cards with either regular tense verbs or irregular tense verbs they need to sort these into their correct piles.

To support different learners, you can modify the difficulty level by providing only a small number of sorting cards to sort, or by just providing one for each heading.
